Dexter was born in Carriacou (off an island of Grenada) in 1970. As a young boy he used to go to Grand Anse with family and realized his dream to one day return to purchase a home on the beach. This dream became a reality in late 2022 when he purchased KingFisher from William King, who had discovered an acre and a half of prime beach front land that was available and in 1999, Kingfisher was built. It was originally called Secret Cove, due to the proximity of Secret Harbour Hotel, sadly now closed but destined to be the site of Four Seasons Private Residences. Originally wooded, the land was cleared and landscaped with mango, lemon, lime and a Flamboyant tree; replanted at the front with coconut palms. In 2004 a Balinese style gazebo was completed, along with a boat house.
